Facilitations Ltd.

Founded in March 1978 by its current directors, Dr. Lawrence Phillips and Ms. Mary Ann Phillips, this 30-year-old United Kingdom company offers the services explained on the Engaging page of this website.

We work on issues such as developing strategy; selecting the best alternative (strategy, course of action, system—any option at all) out of many when no one option is obviously best in every respect; prioritising absolutely anything in which potential investments of money, time, human and material resources are being contemplated; budgeting and resource allocation; evaluating and managing risk; scenario analysis; executive coaching, and helping groups to become high-performing teams.

Engaging in these activities also sometimes shows that the current structure of the organisation blocks effective accomplishment of objectives, and we may than engage the organisation in developing a requisite restructuring.  When a decision conference for the fund-raising division of a charity showed that the desired increase in income was unlikely to be achieved, we helped the director and his team to reorganise, creating new roles and systems, and establishing a new role of marketing director, with the result that income soon more than doubled.

We also sub-contract our services to other consultancy and service-providing companies, typically working in collaboration with them on complex issues facing their clients.  Engaging with the other consultants, we may initially help the client structure the problem, then play a lesser part in obtaining the necessary data and information.  We join forces again in bringing together the many strands of information in a decision conference attended by the key players and the other consultants, leading to recommendations to decision makers about the best way forward.
